If all days were like 18th August 2007 was for Africa Night, we will just be partying on cloud nine! This Africa Night was preceded by the first ever Africa Night barbecue. What we hoped would be a get- together of about 20 guests turned out to be a party of almost 70 people. Everything about the barbecue went better than expected.
It was the only day that week that the heavens did not open up. The meat and chicken were well prepared and the guest did their bit too. Under the sunshine there was enough for everyone to eat. Some of the guest came from Belgium, others from Germany. From 18.00 hours until about 20.00 hours, we were able to get to know each other better and even make new friends. The atmosphere was just great!
But better still was what happened afterwards. As soon as the guests had enough to eat and talk about, they just eased to the dance floor. In short, Africa Night (the dance part) began on this day at 20.00 hours! By 21.00 hours, we had a full dance floor! The music was electric and the people just kept coming and coming. More than 300 guests showed up. DJ Le General who had just a day earlier returned from a 5 week vacation was in his element and in top form! It was so full and warm that we had to open all door and windows to enable more cross ventilation.
Of course a lot of the people took the opportunity to take temporary refuge on the terraces and gardens of the Bosvreugd. When we stopped finally at around 03.15 hours, the people were still asking for more! 9 years and the guests still want more. Great!
