This edition of Africa Night Tilburg was one where only better things happened. After the 30 minute musical trauma of the inexperienced guest DJ of last month, a lot of our guests seem ready this time to be fully entertained. And entertained they were! The more we entertained the guests, the more they seemed to entertain us too. It was one of those Africa Nights when you just have to conclude that the public was bent on having fun no matter what.
It all began well with the fine-tuning of the sound system which had threatened to let us down in the past 2 months. Having secured the best quality sound in the last 3 months, the DJ and the crowd were on top of their games. And even though the rain started pouring around midnight, it only seemed to encourage the guests to pour in, and in great numbers.
We have in the past talked about the Senegalese guests doing their Mbalax thing and how this was always a pleasure to watch. Now move over Mbalax and Senegal, the Bongo Flava/Genge lovers stole the show this time around. Once these East African music started playing a group of ladies and gentlemen from Kenyan, Burundian, Rwandan, Ugandan and Tanzanian descent just took over the dance floor. It proved to be very infectious as many of our European clients joined in the fun. What a joy to watch! Everyone seemed to momentarily forget the scorching heat in Partycentrum Oase and got lost in the euphoria. As a DJ, one could not get a better appreciation than this.
It is just nice to see the power of music in full flow again. As we try once again to extend the reaches of Africa Night to other cities, we can only hope that over time, we can continue to bring so much joy and enthusiasm wherever we go. The first test will be during Africa Night Almere this Saturday. You are all invited to Partycentrum The Lake in Almere to dance and spread some African love. You know you can always trust us to facilitate a good party. Once you come in your numbers, we know we can always trust you to create the best atmosphere anyone could hope for. So let’s meet again on Saturday 24th of September in Almere for the take off of Africa Night Almere. Do we have a date?
