Africa Night @ 14 – The Aha moment!

So ok, where and how do we start to describe how the Africa Night @ 14 celebrations went? We are just short for words now. To say we were flabbergasted would be the understatement of 2012. We will not say much except to say that it was one of those “aha” moments, when you knew where you were and what you were doing when a life changing historical event takes place. We will let our guests do the talking wherever they wish; we will only provide the background to this monumental event.
Africa Night
14 is in itself not a very conventional number to throw a big celebration party. But Africa Night has never been a conventional phenomenon. We go with our heart and feeling. We just do what we feel is right and not because others are doing the same. We leave conventions to others. So when we decided to have this special party we just thought “Let’s do it”.
Africa Night
Even though the decision to have a special party was taken at the last minute, we kept our head down and did what we had to do. We know what our guests want and over the years they have always trusted us to entertain them. Once Ray Blaze, whom we had seen perform live before in Amsterdam, said yes we knew our guests were going to be happy with our choice. Ray fits into the Africa Night philosophy which is everything evolves round the audiences, customers and guests and not about one’s ego. We saw Ray display this kind of philosophy during his show in Amsterdam and it was just a matter of time before we were going to get together one way or the other.

Africa Night is blessed with guests that are loving and critical, loyal and helping. The dress-code for this show was something we did not invent ourselves. It was the brainchild of one of our regular guests. Because we never take our guests for granted, they shower us with love and respect. No money can buy that!

Marshe Breda! If you’ve not heard of that name before, you should keep track of them. They make the tastiest snacks ever! And they were so kind to add taste to our celebrations. We are sure the guests had a great time licking their fingers. What’s more they provided their snacks and services to us on that day completely free! Girls, thank you so much. You can check them out at www.marshebreda.nl.

While Ray Blaze, DJ Aziz and our guest DJ for the night, DJ Sam added the music to the party and Marshe Breda added the taste, our guest added the glamour! It was a parade of beautiful colours and attires. Wow! Without a shadow of a doubt, you all looked wonderful. Just take a look at some of the pictures to see the informal fashion parade that took place during our celebrations.
Africa Night
We could not have wished for a better night. You guys made Africa Night what it has become from 1998 to 2012. We will be there for as long as we can feel each other. For those who had “better” things to do on Saturday 19 May 2012, we hope you know where you were and what you were doing when Africa Night became the talk of the town.

Finally, we just like to say thank you to all of you for being you. The After-party continues on Saturday 2 June during Africa Night Nijmegen. Check our website www.africanight.nl for the address. You might be in for another round of surprise.
