When (if) the day comes to lay Africa Night to rest, one of the things we will look back at is the fact that we gave it our best shot. Nobody can accuse us of not trying. We try, we fall (and fail). We get up, learn and try again. Africa Night began as a hobby. Today, (almost 15 years later) it still feels like a hobby. We do it with passion. We do it to have fun. It is because we are able to have fun that we are able to serve you with pleasure. Because we give you pleasure we get that 1000000 times back. That is one of the steroids that gives us the strengths to stand when we fall. And we are never afraid to fall knowing you (our guests) will never walk on us when we are down.
Africa Night with its spiritual home in Tilburg has been to Eindhoven (2000), Rotterdam (2010) Maastricht (2011), Almere (2011), Nijmegen (2011) and Krefeld, Germany (2013). We go to all of these places not because success is guaranteed; we go there because we believe in spreading the love of African music. Sometimes we fail. Actually we fail more than we succeed. But we always try our best. Saying that, please await some very exciting news about Africa Night soon!
Taking Africa Night to Germany is part of our desire to bring Africa Night closer to the people. We are glad about how Africa Night Krefeld turned out. It was very full house. This is in spite of the very bad weather which hindered a lot of people. Kilimanjaro Africa pub in Krefeld, Germany is not a huge club. But the crowd gave us a huge heart last Saturday by leaving no space empty. Africa Night succeeded in Germany because the guests showed us love. We are because you are. And because you are, we be!
It was a try out edition and after assessing and analysing the whole show, we will decide when and how the next Africa Night Krefeld will take place. No. As always, our decision will not be based on money. Money is just one of the 200+ factors we always consider when deciding on an Africa Night. Money is the least important factor of all.
