Football and Africa Night Tilburg

Football, football and more football. That has been the only thing around in the month of June. When the football World Cup comes to town, one knows every other event will have to take a back seat. For an event like Africa Night which starts at 22:00 hours and ends at 03:00 hours, this World Cup could have been a disaster for the June edition of the show. With the Ghana – Germany match beginning at 21:00 and the Nigeria – Bosnia Herzegovina match beginning at midnight, we were braced for an empty and long night.
Africa Night
Until around 12 midnight, we could count the number of visitors on 2 hands. We were worried that the handful of people who were there would get bored. There is nothing more intimidating than having the whole dance floor to yourself! At around midnight, more people started trickling in. They had obviously watched the Ghana – Germany match and quickly decided to come to Africa Night!
Africa Night
To our surprise more and more people started coming in and by 01:30 hours the hall was more than 3/4 full! We have to say though that the die-hard football supporters gathered at the corner of the hall to watch the Nigeria – Bosnia Herzegovina match that was being shown live on the screen! Their applause at the end of the match which Nigeria won brought a smile to our faces.
Africa Night
Once the match was finished the people made the short journey to the dance floor and never left! The last hour of Africa Night Tilburg of June 2014 has to rate as one of the best this year. It was a happy hour but with a difference. Of course the drinks were in free flow but people looked genuinely happy too. So a night started slowly ended up on a high note for everyone.
Africa Night
The football World Cup will be gone by the middle of next month but Africa Night is always there to entertain you! You don’t need to wait 4 years for the next edition. We are back in 4 weeks for the July edition. Check out www.africanight.nl for all the monthly dates.
