Guests behaving badly! (Africa Night July Edition)

This time, Africa Night took place on the 2nd Saturday of the month instead of the usual 3rd Saturday of the month. We were braced for a very low turnout because of this fact. Even though we had announced this several times and made people aware through all means possible, we knew from experience that many of our guests are fixed in their ways of thinking about the Africa Night. For 9 years it is been virtually held on every 3rd Saturday so why bother to check the dates? Duh! Coupled with this is the fact that it also fell right in the of the summer vacation, was enough to expect a low turnout.
Africa Night
In effect, the reality was that the attendance was just a fraction lower than normal. And again, it was hot!  The atmosphere was electrifying and the party-goers had lots of fun. However, just as we thought it was all going to be only fun as usual, one guy got into a verbal (and almost physical) fight with the bar attendant! This was because the attendant could not serve him the same beer he already ordered and got twice. When the attendant tried to explain to him that the particular brand was out of stock, he got mad and in his rage almost jumped over the bar to attack the hapless guy. Happily, we were able get him out without any problems. He was apparently drunk.

Just as we thought that we could continue to enjoy the rest of the party, another fight broke out. This time it was physical! One guy who was already conspicuous the whole evening because of his over-exuberance apparent took his exuberance too far. He was touching someone else’s wife in a respect-less kind of way and the husband was not about to let him get away with it. It was mayhem! However, just when one thought this was going to signal the end of the night, it stopped. Just like that and everyone resumed dancing as if nothing happened. The whole incident took maybe 3 minutes.

One thing is certain; these two guys have visited Africa Night for the last time. They will never be allowed in again. It is funny how some people think that the fact that they paid €5.00 give them the right to spoil other people’s fun. Africa Night is bigger than any individual. That is why it is still the only show in town that is worth going to!
