If you are looking for party addicts, you don’t need to look further than Africa Night Tilburg last Saturday 18th December 2010. After having gotten over the disappointment of the last minute cancellation of Africa Night Rotterdam, it seemed December 2010 was destined to be a disastrous one for Africa Night. The weather forecast was nothing short of disastrous. The whole week had seen more traffic jams as a result of the Siberian conditions in the Netherlands. And the big freeze was expected on Saturday evening. The weather and traffic agencies issued a code Orange advice to people. Stay home! Buckets of snow was expected in the early evening. The airports and the whole of the South Limburg and many parts of the country were already blanketed with 20cm of snow. The roads were going to be very slippery.
In the event we just thought, we’ve had a very good run with Africa Night. All troubles and setbacks seem to have avoided our path in the 12.5 years we’ve been entertaining the people . We’ve been really lucky. Now December was going to be ending on a very low note. We left for the venue thinking if more than 30 people turned up, we were going to be more than happy.
If 30 people turned up, they were going to be the 30 most crazy people on earth! But apparently there are more people suffering from the most acute form of the Africa Night addiction. Much to our disbelieve and even pleasant shock, Africa Night 2010 ended on a very high note. It wasn’t a sell-out as is usually the case in December, but it was… let us put it this way; just check the pictures and the videos of the show. You’ve just got to see it to believe it. Happily everyone (from as far as Belgium, France and Germany) got back home safely.
We would just like to thank you all for making 2010 another great year for Africa Night. As we embark on a new and hopefully exciting adventure in Maastricht in 2011, we hope you’ll always keep us in your heart. We will always do our best to find new ways of entertaining you. We wish you a very happy festivities in the coming days. Keep yourselves warm by listening to our 2010 CD!
