The Africa Night Tilburg crowd broke with their longest standing tradition last Saturday. Readers of our blogs would have noticed how many time we have complained over the years that the guests never come early. Well, this time around, they came very early. There was already an almost full house at 23.30 hours! And they just kept coming and coming. So much so that at the end of the night, this edition of Africa Night set a new record as the busiest Africa Night Tilburg in 2011. The last paying customer came it at 02.45 hours, which is kind of funny because Africa Night officially finishes at 03.00 hours.
And the crowd is getting younger, more diverse, more open and more new. It is always surprising how many new people always show up. Our goal of spreading the African musical love gets fulfilled every month. We are just happy we are able to bring people together to enjoy music. And when you hear the crowd screaming for more at the end of the night, you knew you are at least doing something right.
On Saturday 22nd of October, the Africa Night train moves to Almere for the 2nd edition of Africa Night Almere. The first edition last month reminded us of how far Africa Night Tilburg has come. In Almere we have to build the whole show again from scratch. It might take time, but we are ready for the challenges.
