We are at a loss for words to describe how we feel about the turnout and the ambiance of the last Africa Night of the year in Tilburg. We knew it was going to be a busy evening. Decembers at Africa Night always are. While this December does not feature in the top 10 of the busiest Africa Night ever, it was certainly the busiest December ever! What made it really special is the atmosphere, the ambiance, the glitter and the glamour. Even the subtle bling bling was there for everyone to see.
As has been the tradition for the past 10 years, there was a free CD lying in wait for every visitor. This year we printed 300 of those thinking by the end of the evening we would still have some left for the January edition of Africa Night Nijmegen. We also permanently deleted the master tape so as not to keep printing stuff the whole year. To our pleasant surprise (and to their own disappointment), there were still about 50 people last Saturday who did not receive a CD. By the time they arrived, there were no CDs left anymore. Sometimes it is really good to be at Africa Night on time.
The surprise started a little earlier in the night when we arrived at the venue and discovered there was already someone waiting patiently for us. He had driven all the way from Frankfurt (Germany) just to be at our show! It wasn’t his first time though. He’s been to Africa Night Tilburg several times! And we had a very inspirational chat with him about some topics, the details of which we’ll spare you here. Let us just say, through what he told and showed us, we are going to get even better at what we do. He showed us some new and as yet unexplored roads paved with great promises. You see, the Africa Night guests do not just take, they give and keep giving.
While we could go on and on about how great the night was (yeah it was a great night ), the pictures can tell their own stories. We would like to take this opportunity to thank you all for letting us shine again this year. We shine because you let us shine. We know you guys have helped made ours the longest running Africa themed party in the Benelux. Without you we could not have done this almost non-stop since May 1998. All we can do is to always welcome you with a well felt smile and make sure we provide you with a safe arena to dance and radiate. As long as we keep understanding each other, we are both going to enjoy the ride.
And while we are at it, we invite you to join us in Nijmegen too. Africa Night Nijmegen has a different but equally captivating ambiance. It is held every 1st Saturday of the month. You need to try it once. The Africa Night New Year’s party will take place in Nijmegen on Saturday 5 January 2013.
Whatever happens, we wish you all a very melodious 2013. Together we will reach even greater heights in 2013
