We are not going to look back to the past. We are going to stay firmly in the present. Africa Night sweet 16 (16th anniversary party of Africa Night) was a triumph of our continuous goal of keeping Africa Night simple. We don’t need all the fake glamour that make some people stay away at some parties. Our guests are real people who are out to have real fun. You should not have to worry about your age, looks, marital status, religion, race etc. when you go out to have fun after working hard the whole month. The most glamorous and authentic people come to Africa Night. They are real, normal, kind and mostly generous.
That is one of the reasons Africa Night has survived to celebrate its 16th anniversary. The guests are polite and they are loving. Every time they come, they recommend it to other friends and family. Why? Because they know Africa Night is never a pretentious place. What you see is what you get. Everything is real. How much more glamorous can you get! We had planned to have a live show during this 16th anniversary edition. However due to circumstances beyond anyone’s control, we had to announce a week ago that the show was cancelled. Did anyone miss the live show during this edition? If you did, you did your best to hide it! Yes you, our guests were live and alive during this party. You made it a night to remember. You danced and danced and danced. Even some old guests showed up to celebrate with us. It was nice to see some of the people who were there on the Boat in the beginning years, now in 2014 dancing on the dance floor of Horeca T Kwadraat. That is glamour. As usual, it was a happy mix of all ages from 19 to 70. Even the guy who comes all the way from Frankfurt, Germany was there again! Where else do you get that?
We want to take this opportunity to say “thank you” to all who have been there all these years, to those who came along the way and all the new ones who are joining us every time. Africa Night will be there as long as you want.
Lastly, and there are tears in our eyes as we write this, Africa Night Productions would like to express her sincere appreciation to all of those who came specially to this edition to personally express their solidarity, sympathy and love for the organiser of Africa Night. The organiser was recently kidnapped in Nigeria working in his other capacity as the Creative Director of Africa Web TV. It felt good to know that people cared for one’s well-being. Africa Night is not your regular party. Africa Night is where real people show real love. That is what we call glamour and we have the most glamorous of them all.
