Two months ago, Africa Night was heading to the grave, almost dead and buried by the decision of the owner of the previous location to play God with the passion of the lovers of this unique show. Now, two months later, Africa Night is not only alive and kicking; it is kicking some asses too!
The movement to the new location has let to a sizeable increase in the number of patrons of the African music disco night, so much so that the space is already proving too small to accommodate all the guests. And where usually the first three months of the year are usually ‘quiet’ months in terms of clientèle, the first two months have broken all records already.
When you have a large crowd, the possibilities increase that one or two idiots will come in to try and spoil the fun. This happened during the February edition. For the first time since Africa Night began almost nine years ago, somebody physically (and without any provocation) attacked the organiser of the show. We will spare you the details. Suffice it to say that this did not spoil the fun everyone (including us) had on this February night.
There will be a live show from a band from Mozambique next month. We are looking forward to that!
