For everything there is a first. This latest edition of Africa Night Tilburg provided 2 firsts.
This past show in Tilburg will go down in history as the first one where we started late. Secondly, it was the first one which the main organiser did not attend. The reason for the first piece of history is the fact that the co-organiser got stuck in a traffic cul-de-sac and could not get to the venue at the usual time. You can imagine the panic that ensued. Never has it happened that we were present on the dot of 22.00 hours when the show begins. Even the DJ, as it turned out, got caught up in the traffic mess too. In the end the show the show went live with an half hour delay. Happily enough, the guests who were early were very understanding.
After attending almost 160 consecutive Africa Nights, the main organiser decided to take his first break in almost 12.5 years. It was a strange experience not being present at a show. But in the event, the show must go on and it went on like there was no tomorrow! Once you see the pictures you’ll agree that Africa Night is bigger than any one individual. We are very happy with the baby that was conceived in quiet frustration 14 years ago.
Since its birth almost 12.5 years ago, Africa Night in Tilburg has never disappoint. We are betting that the Rotterdam edition will in time be as exciting as the Tilburg edition. And as we wait for the Maastricht edition of Africa Night to take off in January 2011, we are sure to entertain you for years to come.
