When we suggested suits and gowns as the dress code for the December 2013 edition of Africa Night Tilburg we thought it was going to be like the other times when we made similar suggestions. Those other times, many just ignored our suggestions and wore whatever they liked. But as with many things connected with Africa Night, we never stop trying. This time around many of you made the effort to honour the dress code even though it was not compulsory.
What a sight! Every one of you was looking like a million euros in suits and gowns. And what creativity some of you showed too in the choice of dress! The lady were gorgeous. But please forgive us when we say some of the men really stole the show! And you were early too (at least you came earlier than normal). By midnight Horeca T Kwadraat was full! All of you early birds were able to get a copy of the Africa Night freemix CD. We made over 200 copies and those who came late were left empty handed. We are sorry about that. Better luck next time.
We played the whole CD non-stop for you and we were happy that for 78 minutes, you took the dance floor hostage. It is moments like that which give us the biggest satisfaction of the night. We spent 3 months finding the right songs to fit into the CD. By taking hold of the dance floor and staying there en masse for 1 hour and 18 minutes, you gave Africa Night Productions the satisfaction that we did a good job.
Although we did not grab the microphone and make a show of it, 6 Africa Night guests got a little bit of an extra gift from Africa Night Productions during this edition. All of them were most deserving of the surprise gifts. For those who are curious, these extra bonuses were given to the first arrival. (This guy has been a constant guest since the early days when Africa Night was in the Boat!) The best dressed lady was given a bonus by our quiet jury too. The best couple also got a bonus as well as two other persons who are always there come rain come shine.
When we announced on Facebook we were bringing a mini photo studio, little did we know that there would be a huge interest from guests who wanted to take a more professional photo of themselves. We hardly had a moment to catch our breath! These photographs, which are not the same we make on the dance floor, were offered for a paltry €1 for every picture the guests wanted. This is in keeping with our belief that quality does not have to be expensive. These pictures will be sent to their owners during this week. They will not appear on our www.africanight.nl party pictures page. Maybe if the owners give us the permission, some might be put on our photography website www.femoree.com later.
This Africa Night year has ended. The show in Tilburg was a great way to end this year. Expect one more blog from us before the end of the year. For now we just want to thank you for looking even more beautiful than ever during this edition of Africa Night Tilburg. You are the reasons we still do this. Have a good holiday seasons.
Ps. If you missed out on the Africa Night CD in Tilburg, you still have one last chance to get yourself a copy! We have decided to print extra copies for the guests during Africa Night Rotterdam on Saturday 11-01-2014 at Grounds Podium Café, Willem Buytewechstraat 68, Rotterdam. We are only able to print limited copies of the freemix CD. So only the early birds are guaranteed to get a copy. This should not be difficult because Africa Night Rotterdam starts at 11 pm and parking your car is free of charge!
