We have had a lot of experiences at the Africa Night, but last Saturday we were able to add another unique experience to the Africa Night folklore. When we got to the venue there was a group of ladies waiting patiently for us. What is unique about this is that this has never happened before. It was not as if we were late or something. They just wanted to have fun, as much and as soon as possible. The group comprised of 2 ladies from Kenya, one from Turkey, one from Slovakia and one from Romania, all friends.
In any case, these early birds were to be the pointers to what the night held in stock. Readers of this blog would have been aware of the numerous times we’ve complained that the guests were always coming too late. During this edition of Africa Night, the guests actually came very early and stayed till the very end. The house was already full before 23.30 hours. As always, people came from far and near and the atmosphere was electrifying. People were dancing like there was no tomorrow. DJ Aziz was on top of his game! The guests left with a very satisfied look on their faces.
It is not often that we mention names here. However, I have to make an exception here. There is this lady who in such a short time has become a true fan of Africa Night. This lady, Amavee, came in contact with Africa Night just about a year and a half ago through our forum. She came to her first Africa Night in January 2008 and has not missed a single show since then. While this in itself is not really unique, she has become a kind of Africa Night ambassador promoting Africa Night wherever she goes. She keeps a monthly Dutch-language blog about Africa Night. She is most active regular member of the forum.
She invites just about everybody through her Hyves page to Africa Night. In short, she has become an indispensable member of the Africa Night family in such a short time. What’s more, she lives more than 2 hours away from where Africa Night Tilburg is held. And she is very modest about it all. Amavee (which is her pseudonym) , if you are reading this, we just want to thank you for your unflagging support. If everyone were to be like you, we would be struggling to find a stadium to contain the guests. Our appreciation to you is really heartfelt.
