Ok. So you thought the 14th anniversary celebrations in May 2012 was great? Well the June edition of Africa Night Tilburg just topped it big time. Sometimes we wonder how many high points Africa Night can have. It seems whenever we think we have reached the ceiling, the Africa Night public just finds a way to lift the roof even higher. Our feeling is, we don’t have to go to a church/mosque/synagogue/monastery etc. to get any blessings. We just worship at the Africa Night temples twice a month and we are more blessed than ever.
Sometimes like last Saturday, you have a couple of guests whose little actions act like triggers for the other guests to go wild in a fun and cheerful way. Like the (African) dance teacher from Utrecht (Uganda/Kenya!) who just got the crowd going with his sublime dance steps. Our one regret is that we only thought of recording the motions just about 50 seconds before the end of this deliciously hilarious impromptu dance master-class. Of course we remembered to capture some of it on the good old camera and you can see the result on the gallery section of our website www.africanight.nl
Sometimes we need some gentle reminders from our caring guests about some of our good, old musical repertoire. These were the music types on which Africa Night made its name. With the onslaught of new, modern hits from all over the mother continent, one forgets to pay enough tribute to the past. One of these guests gave us a gently hint while chatting a day before this edition. We will save you the full transcript. But the long and short of this was the nostalgia towards what we thought was a bygone era. We listened and learned and on Saturday we passed this message to the deejay who reacted accordingly. Turns out it was a good call too. Everyone embraced it and the pool of sweat on their faces and clothes told vivid stories of the fun they had. This is the kind of client/organiser interaction that has been the bedrock of the Africa Night success story. If we have bored you in the past with how our guests are the best in the world, we are not going to make too many apologies for saying it loud again; Africa Night has the best clients in the whole of the universe!
Let’s continue our love affair on Saturday 7th of July in Nijmegen as Africa Night Nijmegen takes centre stage again. All in all, Africa Night continues to live up to its promise to entertain you. Come to our temple and you will receive an abundance of African musical blessings. Amen!
