As the Dutch would say; de kop is eraf! The Africa Night 2015 season got off to a nice start in Tilburg in Horeca T Kwadraat on Saturday 17th of January. What can we say about this edition? We can say to you that it was in a more relaxed atmosphere than last month. Maybe it was because the hall was about 75 percent full this time. That was expected after the always expensive December month. The music and the ambiance were what people have come to expect from Africa Night.
Talking of the music, it was different this time. The DJs seem to have used the holiday period to energise and replenish their repertoire. You have to give our DJs huge credit for their dedication. They are there always doing their best to entertain people with various musical tastes. Like P-Square and Bracket sang, “e no easy o”. Meaning it is never easy. But take DJ Sam for example; he actually landed back in Europe on the morning of Africa Night Tilburg. Not only that, he came back all sick and scratchy due to some allergy. But he would not want to disappoint the Africa Night fans so he still came, all covered up and gave one of his best performances since he began at Africa Night. That is the Africa Night spirit!
Funny thing happened before this Africa Night Tilburg though. As to be expected before every Africa Night, people call us asking for all kinds of information. This range from information on how to get to the venue, the kind of people who come there, the music and so on. In the close to 17 years that we have been organising this show, the question that always make us smile is actually the most serious of all. It goes like this; “I am coming all the way from Amsterdam, are you sure if I get there I will not meet a closed door because the party has been cancelled?!!!!!” Why is it funny? It is because in 16+ years we’ve been asked that question about 10 times. And it is always from people who are coming from Amsterdam!
The story behind the question is also always the same. They want to be sure because they have had those kinds of experiences too often in Amsterdam. Too often, people announce an African party and too often they disappoint or the location changes at the last moment and the organisers fail to communicate this to the public. All we can say is; Amsterdam we feel your pain! Welcome to the very reliable world of Africa Night Productions. Come rain, come shine we are always where we say we are. Whether we are entertaining 100 or 300 people, we do it with the same passion and commitment. Africa Night respects its clients. It is one Africa party that is built on solid foundations.
We enjoy interacting with our guests. That has always been the case. It will never change. One of such conversation was the one we had with a lady last Saturday. As you all know, Africa Night guests are notorious late comers! But in the past 3 months there has always been a lady who comes in very early with her crew. They not only come in early, once they are there, they go straight to the dance floor. So we decided to have a chat. It turns out the lady is from Hungary and she got to know about Africa Night from some Africa Night friends from Ivory Coast. She came first about half a year ago and loved it so much she is now always bringing her own sets of friends and trying to convince others to come too. Are we lucky or not!
We are grateful that we are able to entertain you on a monthly basis. Talking of which; the next Africa Night Tilburg is going to be a special one! It is the Valentines Edition. And unlike all the previous Africa Night Tilburg, this is going to be held on the 2nd Saturday of February 2015. We have a treat for you! We have a live show. His name is Ray Blaze! Those who were there during the 14th anniversary of Africa Night 3 years ago know already what they can expect! And we have a dress code! We are asking you to come dressed in all blue! The best dressed male, female and couple wins a photo-shoot from www.femoree.com!
See you next month!
