There is a natural mystic blowing through the air. The April edition of Africa Night Tilburg is the last one Africa Night will celebrate as a 14 year old. By the time you come to the May edition of Africa Night Tilburg, Africa Night will be celebrating her 15th anniversary. Whether we are going to throw a party like last year remains to be seen. We might throw a party in May or for practical purposes in June. We will, as usual, keep you informed.
Back to the events of the April edition of Africa Night Tilburg which this time got off to a very slow start. Why did you guys come so late? We thought we’ve seen it all in terms of late coming but last Saturday beat all records! Except for a couple of people, the hall was practically empty until around 23:30 when people started trickling in. At first, in ones and twos and later in droves! From 12 midnight till 12:30 hours the attendance rose from just over 40 to 200 in half an hour! Show some mercy! You don’t need to overwork our welcoming team of the security personnel and the ladies at the gate. But as always everything went according to plan and you all came with a smile and left, hopefully, with a smile too.
We are very happy with our ever increasing Belgian delegation/clients. We don’t know what we would do without you. Every month seems to bring some more people from Belgium. So it was again last Saturday. Sometimes we recognise the new Belgians by association i.e. by whom they are with. But mostly it is because many of the new ones always approach us at 3:00 am. That is when we always announce we are closing. You know that look when you’ve just had an aborted orgasm? Pure frustration! That is mostly the look on their faces as the new ones always ask why we are closing that early. In Belgium halls close much later. Unfortunately we are bound by the local government laws in Tilburg which stipulates that we have to close at 3 am. So our advice to our Belgian friends (and also to our other friends) is simple. Come early to maximise your fun. We open always at 10 pm. You don’t need to wait until 1 am to start having fun.
We end this piece with this; there are some stuff going on in the background. Some of these things you know. Most of them you don’t. People spread rumours and people speculate. But the rule to remember is this; it is only true and/or confirmed if/when you hear it from us. We have never played games with you. You are at Africa Night to have fun.
