When the history of Africa Night is written in a few years’ time, historians will look back and say this edition marked a significant turning point in the Africa Night journey. There were so many things happening at once that we were lost for air at the end of the evening. One of these was a national TV station came to make a recording for a show. Happily they did their thing respectfully and their presence did not affect how things went the rest of the evening. Thumps up to the crew.
The other thing was the atmosphere in general. We at Africa Night always try to provide the guests all the ingredients for a good show. The one thing beyond our control is the ambiance. That is something the guests have in their hands. We can do everything we like but if the guests are not in a giving mood atmosphere-wise, then the party will be doomed. Luckily for us, this has almost never happened. Last Saturday at Africa Night Tilburg, the guests elevated their gift of ambiance to another level. It was just fun-packed and even the one or two people who always have “advice” for the DJ seemed happy! Even our “friends” who always secretly insert flyers in people’s pockets seemed to have kept their illicit activities outside until when people were leaving. Maybe they were having too much fun they forgot to promote their doomed shows.
All in all this, the Lovers’ edition of Africa Night was sweet and for a lot of the guests, very romantic. We even threw in some roses to make it a memorable evening for some. When the chief organiser dances 4 times at an Africa Night, it tells you a lot about how relaxed and contagious the whole evening was. And where do all those new people keep coming from? Wow! We like! It is what makes Africa Night stand out. Every month it rejuvenates and rebirths. It keeps Africa Night fresh and relevant. Every new person that comes brings her/his own style and grace and together they mould and shape the Africa Night legend. You are all part of history.
One last point about this edition being a turning point will be kept to ourselves for now. In the coming months depending on how things develop, we will shed more lights on this. You will realise why Saturday February 16th 2013 is really a significant turning point in the Africa Night journey. Rest assured we will always be there as long as you are having fun. It is this that makes this party the longest running of its kind on this coast. As one t shirt said on Saturday; F*ck crises dance more!
Talking of coasts, please we invite you to show us some of your everlasting love on Saturday 23rd of February 2013 as Africa Night makes its international début in Krefeld, Germany!
